Ofsted Inspection

Dear Parent / Guardian

As you will be aware, on 23 and 24 November 2011, Sandwell Academy received a team of Inspectors from Ofsted.  The Inspection team spent 2 days with staff and students and performed a variety of tasks which included: lesson observations, meetings with students across all year groups, meetings with staff and an analysis of parent, staff and student responses to questionnaires.  

I am delighted to inform you that the overall effectiveness of Sandwell Academy has been graded as ‘outstanding’, and the report judges almost every aspect of the Academy as outstanding.  These include the Academy Nursery, the Sixth Form, leadership and management and achievement. 

I am pleased to provide every parent with a copy of the Ofsted Inspection report (in accordance with our legal obligations) and this is attached herewith.  The report is also available on the front page of our website, www.sandwellacademy.com to download. 

I am delighted that Ofsted have recognised the outstanding achievements of students and the outstanding work of staff at Sandwell Academy.  We should all be very proud of this judgement and, of course, work incredibly hard to live up to the highest expectations that have always been a feature of the Academy.  It should give confidence to everyone associated with the Academy that continued dedication and motivation will lead to further success and achievement in the future.
