    Sandwell Academy has been open since September 2006 and in January 2014 was judged outstanding by Ofsted for the second time.  We offer you the opportunity to make a positive contribution in this over-subscribed school which specialises in Sport and Business Enterprise in the culturally diverse borough of Sandwell.  The Academy boasts purpose built, state-of-the-art facilities, as well as the latest ICT and technology.

    A vacancy exists for an Industrial Consultant to work part time (days and times to be agreed) with a group of approximately 100 Sixth Form students to find relevant work placements with organisations in the general area of Sandwell, Smethwick, Wednesbury, Tipton, West Bromwich and Oldbury.

    The role of the Industrial Consultant is to make a link with an organisation willing to offer a work placement and then advise and support the student to clinch the placement and make it effective.  The duties include liaising with teachers, students and industry, making work place visits to monitor the value of the experience and to act as a mentor to the student. Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft products which include Word, and Excel are essential.

    The Academy is keen to make contact with potential Industrial Consultants who have Business, Industrial or Commercial experience.  They may be partially or fully retired, but keen to use their experience to support the development of the students.

Train to teach with Sandwell Academy

Sandwell Academy, in partnership with West Midlands Consortium, train teachers via a variety of routes. We will be enrolling for September 2015.
