Sandwell Academy receives:-

• A tailored programme to support in raising the aspirations of students to enter Higher Education and through the UCA application process, to include: Activities in School or College, events on campus.

• Regular communication relating to the University and the Higher Education Sector

Students receive:

• Exclusive access to the Phoenix Scholarship

The Phoenix Scholarship

The Phoenix Scholarship is our name for the National Scholarship Programme. These Scholarships are targeted at well qualified applicants. There will be approximately 196 Scholarships at Coventry University for 2012/13 awarded competitively on the basis of:

• Attending an interview
• Obtaining at least 320 UCAS tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications
• Selecting Coventry University as first choice (CF) through UCAS
• Entitlement to a full living cost or maintenance grant
• Being a student at a school or college in our Phoenix Partnership

The total value of the Phoenix Scholarship is £3,000 per year. This consists of:

• £500 in cash
• £500 credit on your University smartcard to spend on services e.g. accommodation, food and drink from catering outlets, Sports Centre membership, study materials etc.
• £2,000 as a fee waiver i.e. we will reduce your tuition fees by £2,000 per year

The Scholarship will be continued in the second and third year of the degree provided each year is passed with an average mark of 60% or more.
