GCSE Results 2018-19

Sandwell Academy students have worked hard throughout the year and are celebrating the results that they have received today.

75% of students achieved Grade 4 or better in either English Literature or Language and 74% in Mathematics. 65% of students achieved Grade 4 or better in both English and Mathematics.

70% of all results were graded A*-C or the new 9-4 across a range of subjects. Outcomes were especially high in Art, Science (Triple), Physical Education and Business, and BTEC Sport.

27% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate gained by achieving grade 4 or better in English, Mathematics, two Science subjects, Geography or History and a Modern Foreign Language.

79% of students achieved 5 or more GCSE qualifications at grade 9-4 (A*-C), with every student achieving success in at least one Level 2 course combined with other vocational achievements.

Some outstanding individual performances were achieved by a number of talented students who achieved stunning outcomes matching their personal targets. 14 of the top grade 9 outcomes were awarded to students and 18 students achieved five A*/A grades or better including:

Bethany Fray-Andrew 8 GCSEs at grade A*, A or 7+

Jagdeesh Kaur 8 GCSEs at grade A*, A or 7+

Anjali Sirpal 8 GCSEs at grade A*, A or 7+

Rajpal Ubhi 8 GCSEs at grade A*, A or 7+
