Sixth Form at Sandwell Academy

Sandwell Academy provides a curriculum which offers considerable breadth for students through a range of BTEC and Advanced General Certificate of Education courses

We are an excellent choice for students wishing to study a combination of academic and vocational courses leading directly to the opportunity to study at university. Other courses will be offered if there proves to be sufficient demand and courses may be offered via a range of ICT applications. Students must have a minimum of a level 4 in English and Maths, and 5 level 9-4 passes at GCSE.

All post-16 students undertake a full-time programme made up of A-levels and/or Level 3 vocational programmes.  Students study the equivalent of 3 A-level sized courses.

Students requiring resits in English and/or maths will study these from the start of Year 12.  They will continue to study these until a Grade 4 has been secured in each GCSE subject.

All Year 12 students undertake a one-week work experience programme in the Summer Term.  Where placements cannot be sought, students undertake an Employability Programme engaging with a range of employers.
