Superb Results for Sandwell Academy Sixth Form Students

There is once again much cause for celebration at Sandwell Academy after Sixth Form students achieved another excellent set of A Level examination results. Outstanding outcomes included 25% A*/A grades and 85% A*/C grades with 100% of the students achieving at least a pass grade in every subject.

Sandwell Academy has consistently led the way in Sixth Form performance in the borough since it opened in 2006 and this year’s results continue to set the standard.

All students should be rightly proud of their achievements but amongst the stand out performances were Prizam Sandhu who achieved straight A grades in Biology, Chemistry, Business and ICT and will be going on to study Biochemistry with an Industrial Placement whilst at the University of Birmingham.

Joining Prizam at the University of Birmingham will be Mohammed Ali who achieved an A* in English Literature and A grades in Biology and Chemistry and will study Medicine. Rahul Rana achieved an A* in Biology and A grades in Chemistry and Physics and will also go on to study Medicine at University College London.

Taylor Williams scored an A* in Mathematics and achieved A grades in Chemistry, Physics and Design and Technology and will study Mathematics at the University of Birmingham.

Naomi Rowaiye achieved an A* in Applied Business, an A in Art and a B in ICT and will go to Birmingham City University to study Fashion, Business and Promotion. Other students achieving top grades in a range of subjects include Simran Sandhu who will go to study Dentistry, Paramvir Kahlon, Economics, Sandeep Dulay, Computing, Business and ICT and Sam Nock, Accounting and Finance.

Hamzah Hussain will be starting a higher apprenticeship with Digital 3rd after achieving three excellent B grades and Connor Riley has secured employment with West Midlands Fire Service as a fire fighter having undertaken a tough selection process and achieving excellent grades.

Simon Topper, Head of the Academy, commented: ‘’I am once again delighted at the outcomes achieved by our sixth form students and send my heartiest congratulations to them all. I would like to thank the teachers, support staff and parents for their commitment in encouraging our talented students during their time with us. We look forward to once again supporting every student to a positive destination at university, college or in an apprenticeship, further training or employment. I know that these young people will go on to achieve great things and make a positive contribution to society in the future. Well done and good luck to them all.”
