Sixth Form visit to the Pre-Raphaelite Sisterhood Exhibition

Wed, 05 Feb 2020

On Wednesday 22 January, 23 A Level Literature students visited the National Portrait Gallery in London to view the Pre-Raphaelite Sisterhood Exhibition. They were able see seminal works from the important female artists of the period who have long been neglected by the artist community for being women. Christina Rossetti, an important female Pre-Raphaelite, is one of the literary figures that the students are studying for their A Level Literature exam. It has proven extremely beneficial to students to see her work in the flesh in preparation for their exam, as well as increase their cultural capital. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by all, with the students proving incredibly enthusiastic and engaged with the collection. The students were an absolute credit to the Academy.
